Classifying Cold
Spend a few winters on the farm, and you learn that a thermometer does not adequately measure cold.
If given a choice, between a 40-degree damp cold that wraps itself around you like a heavy wet blanket, or the 40-degree windy cold that forces icy air into crevices and pores, or the 20-degree still, sunny cold that brings the joy of winter into focus, I'll take the latter.
