Snow Cone Days
Two days of above-freezing weather turns the snow into snow cone consistency. It's wet and granular, but still capable of cleaning the white dog that ran through the mud.
As the snow recedes on the hill tops and along the paths, the mud and blades of grass emerge.
I stop and study that grass and find blades of green, and I know that the signs of spring will multiply in the coming weeks.
